SHRM ® Essentials of Human Resource Management

SHRM®  Essentials of Human Resources program is an intro course offering a comprehensive overview of the key aspects of HR. It gives participants foundational knowledge and an introduction to behavioral competencies that are essential for business success. This course is ideal for those who are just starting out in the human resources profession, small business/office managers, or those who are looking for an effective way to boost their employee management skills. Whether you’re a student, new to HR, or in a small business environment, our course will help you develop the critical HR competencies and learn how to apply them on the job.
No pre-req. Includes all SHRM online materials (no print) for 12 months.  Content developed by the Society of HR Management. Class is taught by a SHRM-SCP HR professional.

Course Objectives:
  • Identify where and how HR should be a strategic partner to your organization.
  • Build your knowledge of HR practices, behaviors, and activities.
  • Apply newly learned HR knowledge to practical activities you complete every day
  • Plan for ways to transfer the knowledge and skills learned from training to on-the-job tasks.

In cooperation with SHRM®, students can download a certificate upon successful completion of all module quizzes. (70% or above required for a certificate).

Note:  For Commonwealth of Massachusetts Employees:
course is eligible for Commonwealth of MA employee tuition waivers for 50 % of the tuition fee only ($175 tuition waiver).  SHRM online materials are student paid. Submit your HR signed tuition waiver to the MCC student accounts office. 

Refund Policy:
7 or more business days prior to start of course=100% tuition refund. Thereafter 0.   The SHRM online course materials are non-refundable once distributed.
