SHRM ® Essentials of Human Resource Management

In cooperation with SHRM, this fifteen (15) hour introductory course offers a solid, comprehensive overview of human resource roles and responsibilities. We will provide participants with critical knowledge to help reduce potentially costly lawsuits and improve the ability to handle challenging HR issues related to performance management, recruiting and retention, labor and employment law.  No pre-req.

Instructor: Patricia Morrow, MSM, SPHR, SHRM-SCP.  Ms. Morrow is on the full-time faculty at Northern Essex Community College and is Chair of the Department of Business Administration. Her human resources experience was gained through work in various industries including construction, healthcare, retail, and education working as an HR Generalist. Pat holds a Masters in Management from Lesley University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She has been teaching Human Resources Management at the college level for over a decade and has been Senior Professional in Human Resources certified since 2002 and continues her ongoing professional development.

Less than 5 business days prior to start of the course and before first class meeting=50% tuition refund.

Attention Massachusetts Small Business Owners:  
This course is approved by the Massachusetts Workforce Express Fund.   This pool of funding is designed for small business owners with less than 100 employees to quickly provide training for employees.  Funding is paid to employers (not employees) -  Course Tuition is employer paid.  Applications   must be received 6 weeks in advance of program.
