Welcome to Middlesex Community College! 

1) Online Orientation

Start Your Orientation Play ButtonTo introduce you to the college community and give you the best student experience possible, MCC has created an online orientation experience* that can be completed at your own pace from wherever you are and is accessible on desktop computers, tablets, laptops and smart phones.

After completing the online orientation, you will:

  • know more about academic expectations
  • have received tips on how to navigate the campus
  • have been given information about getting involved on campus
  • know more about academic resources and student support

* Required for all new students enrolled in at least 6 credits and taking at least one day course.


2) First Year Experience Sessions

Smart Start First-Year Experience IDS 101 Button MCC has also created engaging and dynamic First Year Experience sessions! These 2-day Accelerated FYE Courses are will be offered online in a virtual classroom setting. 

Students who attend one of  MCC's FYE Session will:

  • be introduced to essential student success skills, behaviors and habits
  • learn about MCC's academic success and student support resources
  • work with advisors to create a personalized academic and financial plan
  • learn how to get involved in co-curricular activities
  • meet other new students and have fun

3) Engagement Week Events 

We wanted to invite you to our Engagement Weeks this summer! Engagement Week introduce you to MCC and is a great chance for you to meet classmates and staff members in a fun and setting. It is intended to help assist with the transition into college by providing an inclusive and welcoming small-group experience for incoming students!

Our current schedule is below. You can attend to as many as fit your schedule- Space is limited so register early!

First Generation Student Welcome
Wednesday, August 19: 10:00am-12:00pm or 2:00 pm 4:00 pm
The TRIO Student Success Program (SSP) will host two virtual onboarding sessions for students who are first generation to college (parents have not earned a college degree). During these sessions, participants will learn about the Student Success Program and other support services available to first generation Middlesex students. The focus will be on transitioning to college, learning the language of college, making connections, and becoming aware of the resources available at Middlesex. With a special emphasis on the college experience for first generation students, these sessions will include information to help you to be ready to begin college classes, plan for your future, and make the most of your time at MCC. STEM Starter Academy Welcome
Wednesday, August 26, 11:00am – 12:00pm
The STEM Starter Academy (SSA) fosters student awareness, interest, and academic success by providing a variety of opportunities through programs and services for STEM students. We are on a mission to recruit, retain, and graduate significantly more students in STEM pathways programs. Please join us as we kick of the school year with games, prizes and information on how to get involved with STEM Starter Academy. Black Cultural Connections
Monday, August 24, 10:00am – 12:00pm or
Monday, August 31 – 2:00pm – 4:00pm
The Black Cultural Connections is a uniquely designed program to support new Black/African-American students in their transition to college, to build connections among the Multicultural Center staff members and dedicated Black faculty, and to develop a sense of community where Black heritage is acknowledged and valued. LatinX Cultural Connections
Tuesday, August 25, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Tuesday, September 1 – 2:00pm – 4:00pm
The LatinX Cultural Connections is a uniquely designed program to support new LatinX students in their transition to college, to build connections among the Multicultural Center staff members and dedicated LatinX faculty, and to develop a sense of community where LatinX heritage is acknowledged and valued. Asian American Cultural Connections
Wednesday, September 2: 10:00am – 12:00pm or 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Asian American Student Cultural Connections is a special event that is designed to help ensure new Asian American students have a smooth transition to Middlesex Community College. This event provides students the opportunity to meet and build connections with faculty and the dedicated staff members of the Asian American Student Advancement Program (PAASA). Additionally, students will learn about the customized programs and services that the Asian American Connections Center offers. Veterans and Military-Connected Student Virtual Onboarding Session
Tuesday, August 18: 9:00am - 12:00pm
The Veterans Resource Center will be hosting a virtual student onboarding session for veteran and military-connected students. During the session, students will learn important information regarding college resources, receive an overview of VA educational benefits and discuss the process of transitioning to college. A panel of Student Services staff and VITAL Services counselors will also share information about their areas and how they may be of assistance. International Student Onboarding
Monday, September 3: 9:00am-12:00pm
A mandated onboarding will be available to all new international students to discuss important information regarding US Citizenship and Immigration Services requirements including work options, maintaining status and I-20 guidelines required for student visas. The onboarding program aims to ease international student's transition to the American college experience and provide an opportunity to meet other international students as well as the International Office staff.
