Who attends Middlesex Community College?back to top
Middlesex Community College has a diverse student population who may attend days, or evenings and weekends, or both. All people with an interest in all that Middlesex has to offer are encouraged to apply. The student population at Middlesex ranges from recent high school graduates to adults returning to school. Recent demographic studies show that 43 percent of MCC students attend full time, 21 percent have dependent children, 82 percent are employed, 41 percent receive financial aid, and 45 percent have had prior college experience. Survey data and follow up studies of MCC graduates reveal that within one year of graduation, 93 percent are either pursuing further higher education or are employed in a field related to their training at MCC.

Is parking available on campus?back to top
Free parking is available to registered students in designated lots. Click here to see garage and parking lot locations.
In Lowell - There are a limited number of 30 minute visitor parking spots available in front of the City Campus Building on Merrimack Street. For longer parking, day students should park in the Early Garage on Middlesex Street or the Davidson parking lot, or on the street in metered spaces. Evening students may park in any of the city garages.
In Bedford - There are a limited number of 30 minute visitor parking spots available in front of the Campus Center building. For longer parking, there are several lots available adjacent to various campus buildings. There is also parking available in lots near the VA hospital. A shuttle bus runs frequently between many of the lots.
Can I take classes at either the Bedford or the Lowell Campus?back to top
Students are allowed to take classes at either the Bedford or Lowell Campuses to fulfill their degree requirements. Some courses are only offered on one campus. Yes, and all students are encouraged to apply for financial aid.
Middlesex Community College participates in most federal and state grant, scholarship and loan programs that are available to students attending a post-secondary institution. How do I register for classes?back to top
You may register for classes in person at the Student Information Centers on either campus, via phone by calling 1-800-818-3434, or online. Click here for additional registration information or to register online.
How do I request my Middlesex Community College transcript?back to top
Middlesex Community College must receive your transcript request in writing. Click here to download a Transcript Request Form. When completing the form, be sure to include your name, Social Security Number, your approximate dates of attendance, the complete address where the transcript will be sent, and enclose $5 per transcript. Please sign the request, as your signature is required in order to release the transcript. You may either mail your request or visit the Student Information Center on either campus to return the completed form.
Will Middlesex prepare me to transfer to a bachelor's degree program?back to top

Do you offer online courses?back to top
Yes. You can complete an entire associate's degree online in the following majors: Business Administration Careers, Business Administration Transfer, Liberal Arts and Sciences and Liberal Studies. Middlesex Community College also offers many online courses - both credit and noncredit - in a variety of subjects. Click here for an updated listing of online courses offered each semester.

Yes. Middlesex Community College offers English as a second language courses in Reading & Writing, Grammar, and Listening & Speaking. Before registering, students must take a College Placement Test and meet with an advisor. Call 1-800-818-3434 to schedule this test and an advising appointment.

How can I get involved in campus life?back to top
There is a broad spectrum of activities available to students including opportunities that enhance leadership skills through participation in clubs, events and student government. Students are encouraged to visit the Student Activities Office located on the second floor of the Campus Center in Bedford and on the fourth floor of the Lowell Cowan Center Room 407. Club and Student Resource Fairs are held where students can sign up to participate in an activity. All MCC students are invited to participate regardless of the campus where the activity is located. Do you offer academic support services?back to top
Academic support/tutoring is available, free of charge to all students. Tutoring centers and labs are located at the Bedford and Lowell Campuses and offer both drop-in and individual appointments depending on the subject matter. Professional and peer tutors staff the Writing Center and Reading/Study Skills, Math, Science, Computer and Accounting Labs, and assist students with assignments and projects, lead study groups and provide guidance in the use of computers and other multimedia. Online tutoring is also offered in many subjects. Students are encouraged to take advantage of all the support early in the semester.
