Medical Billing and Coding with Medical
Terminology. GES 124
This ONLINE program that will prepare you to take your place in the
rewarding field of healthcare. You will learn to function as an important member
of the healthcare team by providing key skills such as abstracting from medical
records, assigning codes to diagnoses and procedures using the ICD-9-CM, ICD-
10-CM, CPT and HCPCS Level II code books, developing insurance claims according
to third-party guidelines, and understanding the legal, ethical, and regulatory
concepts that are vital to this field. You will learn important terminology and
study the disorders and medical procedures common to each body system. Upon
completion you will be ready to take the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist
(CBCS) exam and be prepared to sit for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam.

Physical Therapy Aide. GES 125
In this ONLINE program, you will master all the skills you need to begin
a career as a physical therapy aide. You will learn what physical therapy
entails, identify the responsibilities of a PT aide, and develop a working knowledge
of anatomy and medical terminology. In addition, you will get a solid grounding in
patient care skills, infection control, and the legal and ethical regulations that affect
healthcare providers. By the end of the program, you will be fully prepared to obtain

You'll gain the skills and knowledge you need to obtain an entry-level
job as an optician while you prepare yourself to achieve American
Board of Optician (ABO) certification. You'll master the mathematical formulas
that opticians need to know, discover how to read prescriptions for glasses and
contact lenses, explore the basics of eyewear styles and materials, become familiar
with the equipment opticians use, learn about prisms and lens types, and gain an

This comprehensive course provides the in-depth, hands-on instruction needed to
work with Microsoft Excel. In this class students will learn the fundamentals of
creating workbooks, performing calculations, using built-in formulas, formatting
the worksheet, combining, sorting, and summarizing data, working with charts and
printing. Participants must be proficient with MS Windows / keyboarding. Please

This course explores the advanced capabilities of Microsoft Excel.
Topics will include using built-in functions such as V-LOOKUP, SUMIF,
COUNTIF, INDEX, MATCH and IF; combining multiple built-in functions to perform
specify tasks; exploring the multiple uses of V-LOOK-UP and the difference between
V-LOOKUP and INDEX & MATCH to search data tables; creating basic macros to
perform repetitive tasks; building pivot tables to analyze data, applying conditional
formatting to identify and highlight specific data and further investigating charts
and graphs. In addition to learning shortcuts, tips and tricks will be shared for
customizing and efficiently organizing specific command button on toolbars and the
ribbon. Each session will have hands-on examples. Please bring a flash drive to
class. This advanced class builds on intermediate Excel skills and will progress
at a fast-pace. Students should be knowledgeable about topics such as relative
vs. absolute cell reference, conditional formatting, filtering and sorting and basic
functions like CONCATENATE, PROPER and COUNTIF vs COUNTIFS. (9 hours) $129
