Veteran and Military-Affiliated Student Advising
Welcome to our Veteran and Military-Affiliated Student Advising page! Middlesex Community
College is committed to assisting military students and their families utilizing available
federal and state educational benefits. Whether you're pursuing a certificate or associate
degree program, members of our advising team will provide you assistance in achieving
your academic goals by developing your academic plan, guidance in completing your
degree and properly utilizing veteran or military education benefits. Our office works
closely with the Veterans Resource Center at the college. We encourage all veteran and military-affiliated students and their
families to visit the VRC for additional resources and services.
To ensure the accuracy of the certification process, students will have to complete
the new or returning student process below.
New Students
New students to the college seeking to use veteran or military education benefits will need to complete the following steps:
- Complete the application and registration process at the college.
- For instructions on the application process, visit our Veterans Resource Center website
- Upload a PDF copy of your DD214
- Upload a PDF print-out of your Certificate of Eligibility/Summary of Education Benefits
- Log into your myVA account to print a PDF copy of your benefits
- Complete the Certification Request Form
Returning Students
Returning students who have used VA or DoD education benefits before at Middlesex Community College will need to complete the following steps each semester:
- Complete the Certification Request Form
- ***Optional*** Upload an updated PDF copy of your Summary of Education Benefits
- We recommend uploading an updated copy of your Summary of Education Benefits from
your myVA account.

Other Certification Tips:
- To ensure accuracy, a registration hold (VA Benefits Certified See SCO) will be placed on your account shortly after completing this form. This is to ensure that you meet with a School Certifying Official if you plan to make any changes to your class schedule. Unapproved changes could result in potential academic and/or financial ramifications.
- You are responsible for tracking your remaining eligibility.
- Students who have left Middlesex CC for more than 2 years must upload an updated Certificate of Eligibility.

If at any point you have questions during the certification process, please email us at: Veterans Certification. Additionally, based on your last name you will be assign to a School Certifying Official.
