New VA Monthly Enrollment Verification Requirement For Post-9/11 GI Bill Benefits Recipients

Effective December 18, 2021, if you are receiving Post-9/11 Benefits you are require for verify your Enrollment information. This is only applicable to Chapter 33 Students!

You can verify your Semester Enrollment by using one of the following options:

  1. Text Messaging -The VA will send a text message every month asking if you have remained in the same classes as you were originally certified for.

    VA text messages will come from one of the following phone numbers:

    (202) 519-1441 | (202) 519-4778 | ( 202) 915-1865 | (202) 991-4607

  2. Email - if you do not opt-in for text, you will be automatically enrolled in email verification and sent an automated email on the last day of the month to verify your enrollment status.

  3. Phone - You can opt out of text and email and may call the Education Call Center (ECC)* at (888) 442-4551 to verify your enrollment Status. Please make sure, you have updated your contact information in case you do not have a cellphone and/or an email on file. This will ensure that the VA can contact you so your monthly payments will not be interrupted.

*Note: Updating your contact information in your va.gov profile does not update your contact information for your educational benefits. ECC keeps their own contact information records.
