MCC Student SkyDrive FAQ

SkyDrive is a personal 7 GB storage area and is provided with your MCC student e-mail account, which means you will have plenty of space for your documents and files. You can access your personal SkyDrive storage at https://skydrive.live.com. Store, organize, and download your files, photos, and favorites on SkyDrive, and access them from any computer with an Internet connection. Share photos and files that you create with your friends, collaborate on documents, or display photos and files that you create for anyone in the cloud.

How do I access SkyDrive, my personal online file storage?

  • Go to the https://skydrive.live.com and log on using your full MCC email address,  emailname@mail.middlesex.edu, and your password.
  • Please note that you use your Personal Microsoft account to login to SkyDrive which is different than the way you login to your MCC e-mail account.
  • If you change your password for SkyDrive it does not change your MCC e-mail password and vice-versa.

What kind of files can I store on my SkyDrive?

You can store any files on your SkyDrive. Keep in mind that the MCC Computer and Network Usage Policy applies to all use of the MCC student email system and SkyDrive.

Can I store music and video files on my Skydrive account?

You can store any files on your SkyDrive. Keep in mind that the MCC Computer and Network Usage Policy applies to all use of the MCC student email system and Skydrive.

Attempting to store unlicensed files on your SkyDrive will subject you to loss of service and other disciplinary action outlined in the MCC Computer and Network Usage Policy.

Can I use SkyDrive for peer to peer programs to share files?

No. The College does not allow person to person (peer to peer) applications on the College network and College storage facilities. Peer to peer file sharing is a violation of the MCC Computer and Network Usage Policy.
