Academy of Health Professions Certificate

The Academy of Health Professions offers certificates in four areas: Nursing Assistant, Medical Receptionist, Medical Office Administration, and Phlebotomy.  In addition to academic coursework, students explore career paths to determine which profession best matches their interests and abilities. With each certificate, students gain skills that prepare them for employment in their chosen health field. In the first level of the Academy, students can choose to study the Nursing Assistant or Medical Receptionist curriculum. Upon completion of these certificates, students may continue to the next level of instruction, Medical Office Administration or Phlebotomy, or can enter the workforce.

Students achieve success through a variety of traditional and non-traditional courses, career counseling and support, tutoring, and hands-on experience in health careers. The Academy courses are offered daytime or evenings and weekends in an accelerated format. Students will take 6 credits (2 courses) in each 8 week session. (The phlebotomy certificate has one 7 credit session.)  Small class size ensures that students receive individualized attention and support through the program.
