Lego Mindstorms EV3. MCC has purchased Mindstorms sets to explore and build with this summer! Kids will learn basics of robot building and programming. Kids are put into teams of four and presented daily challenges. They will design, build, and test robots in a fun competitive atmosphere. Bring your imagination as you work closely in a team to create a competitive robotic masterpiece.

If you have taken Veterinary Early Training or have volunteered in local animal hospitals or vet clinics, this is for you. This advanced program is designed for the animal enthusiast with a serious interest in veterinary medicine. You will build on your veterinary knowledge through interactions with local veterinary professionals, a dissection in MCC’s science labs and more! We recommend that only serious students attend. All materials and transportation to area establishments are included in the cost of the program.

Explore the amazing world of digital photography. You will learn about photo composition, lighting, editing and digital photography software. Some picture-taking experience is helpful, but not necessary. There will be photo assignments, a field trip and time spent in the computer lab enhancing your images. Bring your own digital camera with available memory each day and a portable memory stick. All field trips cost are included in the cost.

An introduction to electronics designed to provide an understanding of the basic theory and practices of low voltage electronics. The course will be taught with a fun hands-on approach, utilizing parts and components. Participants will benefit from this course by gaining a better understanding of the basic terminology and principles of electronics used day to day.

Don’t miss this chance to experience and participate in a wide variety of fitness opportunities, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, croquet, badminton, ultimate Frisbee, Frisbee golf, ping pong, kickball, whiffle ball, 4-Square, hiking, flag football, capture the flag, and more! Kids will have the chance to experience some of these activities for the first time or develop their current skills. Days will be full, jam-packed with action, movement, and physical activity! Introductory in nature, activities will focus on recreation and fun rather than competition. All skill levels and abilities welcome – all equipment will be provided.

EXPLORING MONOTYPES AND COLLAGES (Ages 8-11) Making artistic discoveries through the creation process, students will learn and explore the art of printmaking and collage. Creativity and peer collaboration will be encouraged, along with teacher instruction on traditional and modern printmaking techniques. Emphasis on a fun, comfortable learning environment, with opportunities to expand a young artist’s natural artistic imagination is guided with nurturing constructive feedback.

MIXED MEDIA (Ages 8-11)
Students will work with all kinds of media. We will do collages, rocks, watercolors, acrylics, natural materials, mosaics and more. This is a fun program that will teach students to explore with all kinds of materials to create open art. It opens students up to new ways of being creative in general. Each student will complete a different project each day.

PLEASE NOTE: For kids that wish to take Mixed Media and Exploring Monotypes and Collages programs, there will be childcare in between the two offerings from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Be sure to send your child (ren) with lunch.
