Alumni Jeff Davis '81Preparing & Conducting Effective Online Meetings (for Managers & Work Teams)

Date: Tuesday, July 21, 2020
Time: 11:30 am – 12:45 pm

This 75-minute live webinar will cover the essential “principles and practicals” on how to make your online meetings more productive; helping you make good decisions and workable plans that keep your team on track.

SUMMARY:

Bringing your team together to discuss and decide how to address pressing day-to-day work issues, while also planning for the longer-term, was challenging enough before Covid-19.  However, the ‘new normal’ work environment requires even more effective planning and execution to meet the demands of the unpredictable and ever-changing world around us.

Online meetings are now indispensable vehicles for the ‘new normal’ world of work.  When utilized effectively, these meetings are a valuable resource, but they can be wasteful and frustrating when they do not deliver.

WHO THE WEBINAR IS FOR:

  • Team leaders – those who feel they need to update their meeting preparation skills and how they conduct online meetings
  • Meeting contributors -  if you are designing and conducting on-line meetings, you might find that your skills are not having the same impact they once had during an in-person meeting setting; this webinar explains why – and what to do about it
  • Meeting participants – If you are on a team, a staff, a project – and you feel disconnected from the online meetings you attend, this webinar explains why that is; and, more importantly, what to do to adjust your skills to be more effective in online meetings!

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:  By the end of this Live Webinar, you will be able to:

  • Use the ‘Road Map’ Methodology to Plan In Advance for Meeting Success
  • Apply the IDD Format to Facilitate Outcome-Based Meetings (Inform, Discuss, Decide)
  • Utilize the RAPID© Method to Accelerate Engaging the Meeting Participants in Contributing Their Expertise and Opinion in Useful Ways
  • Ensure Your Meetings Stay on Track – Using Three Classic Group Dynamics Techniques
  • Assure that the Plans and Decisions Made are Meaningful, Reasonable & Executable (MRE’s)
