100 More!

The 100% Course Completion originated in 2018 as a student retention initiative. Through the collaborative work of dedicated faculty and staff, students in participating courses persisted at higher rates. During the past few years, SoTL faculty and staff have created and shared a wealth of resources geared at helping students succeed and persist through their coursework.

Following the incredible success of the 100% Course Completion 1.0 and 2.0 projects, and the incredible work done by the SoTL community to create a
Culture of Persistence and Student Success, SoTLentered its third phase of our 100% Course Completion Project (CCP) titled 100 More!

The results demonstrated that the 100% Course Completion Project is making a difference!  In spring 2018, 80.1% of students enrolled in participating courses completed compared with 72.46% of students enrolled in equivalent classes, not in the program.

In spring 2019, 79.1% of students enrolled in participating courses completed compared with 74.2% of students enrolled in equivalent classes, not in the program.  While the percentage was down slightly for participating courses, the number of students involved in the program nearly doubled.  Additionally, the higher rate of students completing overall seems to suggest the culture is indeed shifting.

In spring 2020, SoTL launched 100% CCP 2.0 in which we partnered with Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Advising, and Enrollment Management to help our students register for the fall semester as well as discover significant stumbling blocks along the way.  The results of this initial pilot are impressive: 60.9% enrolled in participating courses registered for the fall semester compared to 52.4% of students enrolled in equivalent classes, not in the program.

The 100 More! Initiative has scaled up and now has over 40 faculty participating in Spring 2021. The group continues to improve retention efforts and promote a sense of belonging in classrooms and throughout the college.
