Automotive Technology Program

Overview

The Automotive Technology associate in science, Liberal Studies degree program is jointly offered by Middlesex Community College and Minuteman Regional School of Applied Arts and Sciences. The program prepares students to work in today's highly automated repair shops and provides the background to advance to supervisory or managerial positions in the automotive industry. Students get hands-on training and instruction in automotive repair and maintenance at Minuteman Regional School of Applied Arts and Sciences in Lexington, where they learn the requisite technical skills. Students take their general education courses at Middlesex to strengthen communications, computer and management competencies. The MCC associate degree credits for the automotive courses are awarded upon receipt of recommendations from Minuteman faculty.

Career and Transfer Outlook

Students who complete this program find work in the local automotive industry as automotive technicians. The general education and Business courses will enable graduates to move into management positions or develop their own business
