At the close of each fall and spring semester, your academic records will be reviewed to determine your academic standing. Middlesex Community College has designed specific interventions for students who are experiencing academic difficulty.
Academic Warning & Probation Interventions
If you have been placed on Academic Warning you are required to complete the online Academic Warning Workshop. This workshop will provide you with useful information about college policies and resources for students experiencing academic difficulty. Until you complete this workshop, an academic "hold" has been placed on your record. You will not be able to register or add/drop classes until you complete the workshop. Click the link below for additional instructions regarding the Academic Warning Workshop.
Upon completion of the Academic Warning Workshop, please allow 24-48 hours to have this hold lifted from your academic status.
(less than 34 credits completed)
If you have been placed on Academic Probation and have completed less than 34 credits you are required to enroll in specific coursework as indicated in your notice of Academic Probation. An academic "hold" has been placed on your record. You will not be able to register or add/drop classes until you enrolled in the designated coursework.
You are also encouraged to participate in an online Academic Probation workshop. Click the link below for additional instructions regarding the Academic Probation Workshop.
(more than 34 credits completed)
If you are on Academic Probation and have completed more than 34 credits, you are strongly encouraged to do the online Academic Probation Workshop and to meet with your academic advisor to develop a plan to become a student in good standing. Click the link below for additional instructions regarding the Academic Probation Workshop.
If you have general questions about academic standing, please contact an advisor in the Advising, Career and Transfer Center. Additional information is also available on the Academic Probation Frequently Asked Questions sheet.
If you are on Academic Probation and have questions or need additional information, contact Gail Lucozzi (Academic Progress Coordinator).
