Public Transportation options


The Lowell Regional Transit Authority (LRTA) provides bus service from the Kennedy Bus Transfer Station at Gallagher Intermodal Transportation Center to the city of Lowell and surrounding towns.

To the Lowell Campus:
LRTA Route 9: Travel to MCC's Lowell campus via LRTA's Route 9 (Downtown Circulator) bus. Click here for a map and schedule. The Route 9 stops closest to the Lowell campus are the High St., John St. and Market St. bus stops.

To the Bedford Campus:
LRTA Route 13 to Billerica Mall; Free MCC Shuttle to campus (morning and afternoon, Monday through Friday): Take LRTA's Route 13 (Billerica) bus to the Billerica Mall, where MCC's Free Shuttle Bus meets riders at 7:55 a.m. and transports them to the Bedford Campus  (arriving @ 8:20 a.m.). The MCC Shuttle returns riders to the Billerica Mall in the afternoon (leaving Campus at 1:30 p.m., arriving at the mall at 1:50 p.m.). Click here for the LRTA map and schedule.

LRTA Route 14 to Burlington Mall/Lahey Clinic: MCC Shuttle Bus service from the Nuttings Lake Post Office/Mobile Gas Station stop (morning and afternoon, Monday through Friday) can be arranged on a limited case-by-case basis when shuttles are available by calling 781-280-3682. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's (MBTA) Route 62 bus transports riders from Boston's Alewife Station to the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital in Bedford. MCC's Free Shuttle Bus runs throughout the day between the VA Hospital and the Bedford campus. Click here for the MBTA map and schedule. The MCC shuttle van meets the Rte 62 MBTA bus when it arrives at the VA Hospital. For the return trip the MCC shuttle van departs from the Campus Center 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival of the Rte 62 bus( ie: the van departs at 1:30 pm to meet the 1:40 pm bus)
