Timeline

2005

Launched Student Learning Outcomes Assessment work, building on prior core curricular values integration work that had stopped short of evaluation as well as the college’s Carnegie Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) faculty/staff Community of Practice, steeped in faculty and staff research, collaboration and scholarship for the purpose of improving student learning. See documentation.

All assessment work was undertaken by faculty and staff committees, supported by Dean of Assessment, and required feedback and approval of larger college faculty and staff community via monthly Faculty Staff Association (FSA) meetings.

2006-2009

ISLO assessment tools and processes developed and piloted, moving from homegrown rubrics, to eventual adoption and adaptation of AACU VALUE rubrics.

ISLO assessment results shared annually at FSA meetings, followed by college wide discussion on strategies for improvement.

Professional Development funding provided to programs to support program use of assessment results to improve student learning.
