Honored to Serve

Photo of MCC President Phil SissonI am honored to be serving as MCC’s 5th President and I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for this great institution. MCC has long been recognized as an innovative and transformative place to work and learn. Following a year-long celebration of 50 years of student success amid a global pandemic, the College has never been more prepared to face the future of education. Driven by our mission, we will tackle racism head on, making our community an equitable and accessible place for all.

It is our students who make MCC so special. They all have a unique story that we as educators must hear.  Whether a high school student or an adult learner, an immigrant or a career changer — our students have experiences, skills, talents, cultures and identities that we need to recognize and honor as a crucial part of their educational journey.

MCC’s devoted faculty and staff are fully committed to helping students on their paths. As a community we are dedicated to helping each and every student identify their personal, academic and professional goals — and will work with each student to hone their strengths and to develop new skills that will position them to transfer to a four-year school or advance in their chosen career.

Looking forward, Middlesex will continue to put the student first and meet each learner where they are, providing them with a safe, welcoming and engaging place to learn. As we move into the College’s next 50 years, my focus is to develop MCC as a pacesetter and leader of equitable education practices nationwide. We will continue to offer curriculum and programming that grows and responds to not only workforce needs but to what our diverse community needs as well.

The future for Middlesex is bright and the College is dedicated to helping each and every student on their individualized path to success.

Phil Sisson
