What is Educational Talent Search?

Educational Talent Search is a student support program funded by the US Department of Education designed to promote school completion and higher education among low-income, first generation families and other college bound students.  Each fiscal year the program serves 714 students in grades 6-12 attending Lowell High School, Stoklosa, and Butler Middle Schools.


The program offers the following services:

  • Academic Advising
  • College Early Awareness
  • Course Selection Assistance
  • 8th & 9th Grade High School Transition Component
  • Parent/Family Outreach
  • Career Awareness
  • College Tours
  • Community Service Opportunities
  • Report Card Assessment
  • Student Advocacy
  • Assistance with the College Process, including SAT registration, college essay and resume writing, college application and financial aid/scholarships application.
  • Academic and summer enrichment programs

Who's Eligible to apply?

  • Students must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents with valid I.D. Card from US Immigration Department
  • Must be attending Lowell High School, Butler, or Stoklosa Middle Schools
  • Must be a college bound student in good academic standing
