Anniversary Savings for New Students

Middlesex Community College is turning 50. To celebrate, all NEW* students who register before September 10 may qualify for 50 percent off the cost of a 3-credit course. With personalized financial aid counseling, flexible course formats, and a supportive community, you can earn transferable college credits or begin your college career. MCC can help you discover YOUR path and graduate with less debt.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit all documents requested by the Financial Aid Office.
  • Must not have a college degree or college credit from MCC or another institution prior to the Summer 2020 semester (does not include dual credit coursework).
  • Must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program that meets Title IV eligibility for financial aid.
  • Cannot receive both New Student and Unemployed Student scholarship.

Maximum Award Value

  • Maximum Award is based on the $252 per credit rate for Massachusetts residents in a 3-credit course, which is $378.00.

No additional application is necessary. Once your FAFSA is received electronically by MCC, your award will be processed by the Financial Aid Office.


Jumpstart Savings for the Recently Unemployed

Have you recently become unemployed and want to invest in your education but don't know where to begin? If you recently lost your job, you may qualify for 50 percent off the cost of a 3-credit course*. Let Middlesex Community College jumpstart your next career. MCC also offers personalized financial aid counseling and will work with you to create a financial aid package you can afford.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit all documents requested by the Financial Aid Office.
  • Must have been laid off permanently or indefinitely from a full-time, non-seasonal, non-contract position due to a company layoff or reduction in workforce due to economic circumstances since March 2020.
  • Cannot receive both Unemployed Student and New Student scholarship.
  • Must provide to MCC (through electronic application)
  1. A letter from the former employer on official company stationary stating the layoff date and clarifying the applicant lost a qualifying job due to a company layoff or reduction in workforce due to economic circumstances, and
  2. A copy of a recent regular pay statement indicating full-time hours.

  • Maximum Award is based on the $252 per credit rate for Massachusetts residents in a 3-credit course, which is $378.00.

To Apply

Complete the application and required proof of unemployment. To complete this step, you will need your Student Identification Number and PIN, which is issued by Middlesex once you have applied for admission.


Degree Completion Scholarship

If you started at MCC and completed 45 credits of your associate degree program but haven't taken classes since Fall 2019, you may qualify for a completion scholarship. Eligible students get one 3-credit course for free out of their remaining courses to be taken to graduate.

Eligibility Criteria

  • As of the Fall 2020 semester, must have 45 credits or greater successfully completed in your current associate degree program of study.
  • Have not been enrolled at Middlesex since Fall 2019.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 3 courses for the Fall 2020 semester.
  • No application is necessary. This is available to students who do not file the FAFSA.
  • Academic transcripts will be evaluated and the Completion Scholarship will be awarded based on this review.

Maximum Award Value

  • Maximum Award is based on the $252 per credit rate for Massachusetts residents in a 3-credit course, which is $756.00. Specialized course fees, health course fees, nor course equipment or materials fees assessed by Middlesex are not included in the award value.
