Charrette LLC, headquartered in Woburn, was recently awarded a Workforce Training Fund Grant in collaboration with Middlesex Community College. Charrette LLC is the nation’s leading provider of design products and imaging equipment for design professionals, and now has 17 locations throughout the U.S.
Over a two-year period, most staff members at corporate headquarters will be offered some type of training. Approximately 30 managers are taking management and supervisory training courses, while 60 sales representatives are being trained in sales techniques and product knowledge.
In addition, computer training in MS Outlook, MS Excel and SAP (Charrette’s primary operating system) is being offered to all employees. With this grant, Charrette can train new and existing workers, enhance worker skills, introduce new technologies and selling methods, and develop customer satisfaction techniques.
“Middlesex was very instrumental in helping us secure this training grant. We have enjoyed a long relationship with the college through other programs and have always found them to be ‘ahead of the curve’ in reaching out to the private sector. This program is working exceptionally well primarily because we get such tremendous support from the program manager and her staff. Having one person to handle all the details, from developing the coursework to assessing and selecting the appropriate vendors, makes the training program very efficient for us. It is also beneficial to us to have one organization that can provide everything, from basic computer applications and technical skills training to more complex management and sales training.” - Larry Mansfield Vice President Human Resources
