The Middlesex Community College Celebrity
Forum is an annual event designed to bring well-
known personalities to the Merrimack Valley in
order to enrich educational and cultural
opportunities for area residents. Proceeds from
this event support MCC scholarships and
special programs.

The MCCF offers a variety of scholarships to
current Middlesex students to help them reach
their educational goals.
Emily Boudrot Memorial
Scholarship - $500
To assist a nursing student who is a single mother.
Mathew Boule Memorial Scholarship
To assist a graduate of Lowell Middlesex Academy
Charter School who plans to attend Middlesex
Community College.

Scholarship - $2,000
To recognize three students who are majoring in
paralegal studies who demonstrate academic
excellence and exceptional promise.
Mavis Leno Scholarship
To assist a female student who may not otherwise
have the ability to pay for a college education.
Preference will be given to students with an interest
in advancing the rights of women.
Lexington-Concord Chapter of the
Armed Forces Communications &
Electronics Association (AFCEA)
Scholarship - $500
To assist a student pursuing a technical degree
in engineering, computer science or physical
science with the intention of pursuing a
baccalaureate degree.
Scholarship - $1,000
To assist a female student completing an associate
degree in Math, Science, Technology or Health.

Foundation Merit Award - $300 to $1,000
To recognize students who demonstrate academic
excellence and exceptional promise.
Mothers Memorial Awards
To assist students who experience unexpected
financial expenses that jeopardize their ability to
continue their education.

Scholarship - $1,000
To assist a student pursuing a degree in business
New England Woodcarvers (NEWC)
Scholarship - $1,000
To assist a student pursuing an associate degree in
the arts.
NorthEast Association of Realtors
Scholarship - $500
To assist a deserving student from Andover,
Billerica, Boxford, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Dracut,
Dunstable, Groton, Lawrence, Littleton, Lowell,
Methuen, North Andover, Pepperell, Tewksbury,
Tyngsboro or Westford.
Thomas O'Mahony "Spirit of Excellence
Award"- $1,000
To assist a student pursuing a business-related
associate degree.
Securitas Security Scholarship - $1,000
To recognize the accomplishments of two students
who demonstrate both a commitment to academics
and public safety by pursuing a career in law
Lura Smith Scholarship - $1,000
To assist an African-American or African student
pursuing an associate degree at Middlesex
Community College
Verena Stair Memorial Scholarship - $600
To assist a nontraditional female student who has
been accepted as a full-time transfer student in
pursuit of a baccalaureate degree at another
institution of higher learning.
Support Staff Scholarship - $300 to $500
To assist a nontraditional adult learner who has
been out of the academic setting for an extended
period either due to family considerations or is
seeking job training to reenter the workforce.
Judith Tarutz Scholarship - $500
To provide a financial stipend to a student enrolled
in the Technical Writing Certificate Program which
will enable the individual to acquire the skills
needed to succeed in today's knowledge-based
Shirley W. Thidemann Memorial
Scholarship - $500
To assist a student pursuing a degree in mental
health and, in particular, the treatment of alcohol/
substance abuse.
Collegiate TRIO Programs
Scholarship - $1,000
To assist two deserving collegiate TRIO participants
(one from the Student Success Program and one
from the Program for Student Achievement) in
pursuing an associate degree and transferring to
a four year institution.
Unitas Scholarship - $600
To assist a Lowell resident of Hispanic origin
currently attending Middlesex Community College
Pecki Wilson Book Award
To assist a student with textbook purchases.
External Scholarships
The following scholarships are offered by
external organizations and foundations to help
students with tuition and fees.
New England Chapter of the
Parenteral Drug Association
Applicants must be active members of the
Parenteral Drug Association, and have completed
a minimum of two semesters of study at MCC.
Selection is based on scholastic excellence and
participation in chapter activities.
The Massachusetts Hospital Association
(MHA) and MHA Insurance Agency
This annual scholarship is funded by the MHA
Insurance Agency in the amount of $2,500. It is
available to current students, those currently
working in allied health care roles or those with
previous employment in these roles.
Early Childhood Educators Scholarship
The scholarship is designed to provide financial
assistance for currently employed early childhood
and out of school time educators and providers who
enroll in an associate or bachelor's degree program
in Early Childhood Education or related programs.
