Effective Business Writing Techniques
Clear and concise written communication skills are essential in the modern
workplace. In fact, effective written communication is cited as one of the most
crucial competencies for workplace success. As well as a review of basic grammar
skills, this class will provide tips and tools to help avoid common mistakes and
improve sentence structure. A workshop approach is used during class to allow
participants to analyze and compose letters, reports, and internet messaging.
Writing samples that are representative of your needs and interests will be

UPDATED! Equipment Validation
This 10 hour certificate class will present an overview of Validation, allowing
students to understand why validation practices are important and how it
impacts various industries. Students will be exposed to various aspects of
validation including installation qualification and operational qualification
taking into account how long a study will be conducted, data collection
methods and traceability requirements. Discussions will include developing
the protocol, conducting the validation and finalizing the report. Students
will gain an understanding of why validation is an integral part of both FDA
regulated and general manufacturing industries. The hands-on component
of the session will include developing and conducting the validation of
laboratory equipment. In addition, students will have the opportunity to
work with a local primary metrology lab and learn about the types of careers
available. A certificate will be granted upon successful completion of this

of 3D printers. Students will have an opportunity to use a TKI Kossel Type-A
3D printer. The capstone project will consist of creating a 3D manufactured

OSHA General Industry 10 Hour Training
This training program provides information for safe practices governed by
OSHA standards for General Industry Workers, Worker rights, employer
responsibilities and how to file a complaint, as well as identification,
prevention and remediation of workspace dangers will be discussed.
Instruction time is 10 hours minimum with additional time for testing and
discussions. Students passing the test on the last day of class will receive
OSHA certificates. OSHA cards are mailed within 90 days. * An $8 fee for
OSHA cards will be collected during the first class. Students MUST attend
all class sessions to receive their certificate and OSHA card. (12 hours) $179

Veterinary Assistant GES 118
This online program will prepare you to become a productive member
of a veterinary team. You'll learn about every aspect of veterinary
assisting, including anatomy and physiology, animal restraint, laboratory sample
collection, assisting in surgery and dentistry, prescription preparation, and taking
radiographs. You'll also learn how to interact professionally with clients and gain
the expertise you need to educate them about key topics in pet care, such as
nutrition, vaccinations, and administering medication. This program is designed
for people who want to work at a veterinary hospital and those who are already

Nurse Assistant/HHA Certificate
This training program (including 24 hours of weekend clinical training at a
local long-term care facility) prepares you for an entry level career as a Nurse
Assistant. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to sit for the
Massachusetts nurse assistant certification exam. Students will learn how
to appropriately care for residents in long-term care facilities and hospitals
as well as personal patient care, patient rights, lifting and turning patients,
safety, infection control, vital signs, record keeping, mental health care of
residents, and stress management. Students must have a HS Diploma or
GED. Students will also be required to pass a literacy exam and complete
a CORI/SORI check and be able to lift and move 50 pounds. Course is not

Pharmacy Technician
This course is designed to teach students as a Pharmacy Technician in a
retail setting the knowledge and skills necessary to practice as a Pharmacy
Technician. The course will consist of a 60 hour instructor led class followed
by an 80 hour externship in an actual pharmacy setting. The course will
prepare the student to take the National Certification Exam to become PTCB
certified. The instructor led portion of the class will review various topics
including pharmacy operations, pharmacy law, pharmaceutical calculations,
routes of administration, medical abbreviations, medication dosage forms,
interpreting drug orders, regulations and the top two hundred prescription
medications. In partnership with CVS Pharmacies, the externship portion of
the course is designed to give the student real world experience in a retail
pharmacy setting. This is a fast-paced class that requires students to have a
basic understanding of fractions, formulas, and conversions.
