TRIO: Student Success Program



The TRIO Student Success Program at Middlesex Community College serves 200 low income and first generation college students and individuals with disabilities.

You are eligible if:

  •  You are a first generation college student (neither one of your parents earned a Bachelor's degree)
  •  You meet income eligibility guidelines
  •  You have a documented disability (registered at MCC Disability Support Services)
  •  You are enrolled in an MCC degree program

Services are available to students to support their educational experience at Middlesex. Academic support is provided and includes regular and drop-in appointments with tutors, TRIO advisors, and an Academic Services Specialist.

Our services include:

Academic Advising - We assist students with course selection and academic planning.

Career Planning and Assessment - We assist students with career decision-making

Tutoring - We offer tutoring in math and English for our students.

Study and self-improvement workshops - Various workshops are offered each semester including study skills, time management, writing college papers, researching.

Financial Aid Assistance and Advising - We assist with the financial aid process

Personal Advising - Each of our students receive individual advising tailored to their academic and personal needs.

Transfer Assistance and College Information - We meet with students individually and in groups to plan for transferring to a four-year college and offer many college visits throughout the year .
