The course work includes basic and applied office practice, computer training, interpersonal skills and consumer education. In addition, students learn job survival skills and job search techniques such as resume writing and interviewing skills.
Students in the Transition Program complete specially designed courses each semester in the following areas:
- Vocational Preparation in Office and Business Support Skills
- Independent Living Skills
- Personal and Social Development
- Job Survival Skills and Job Seeking Skills
The Transition Program has its own full-time and part-time instructors to develop and teach courses. Staff are responsible for program coordination and internship development and supervision. Most instructors and staff have a background in Special Education or Counseling; others have a business background with a commitment to individualized instruction and experience working with students with learning disabilities.
