Joint Admissions Programs

By participating in the Joint Admissions Program, Middlesex students can be guaranteed admission to one of these participating colleges: The four University of Massachusetts undergraduate campuses, seven of the state colleges, and Suffolk University. Joint Admissions is open to students enrolled in an approved MCC major program of study who complete their associate degree with a 2.5 or higher GPA.

Students who are enrolled in an approved Joint Admissions major at Middlesex Community College receive customized transfer counseling and academic advising from their beginning semester through completion of their associate degree. Once they have earned their associate degree in the approved program of study with a 2.5 or higher GPA, they then make a seamless transition to an approved bachelor’s degree program at their selected college or university. (Note: Suffolk University requires that students complete a participation form, available at the MCC Student Information Centers, before they have earned 30 credits.)

During their final semester at Middlesex, students sign an Intent to Enroll form, available at the MCC Student Information Centers, with their college of choice. Other transfer options remain open to students in the Joint Admissions Programs.

Please note: Joint Admissions is available to students who have matriculated at Middlesex Community College prior to September 2009. Students currently participating in Joint Admissions will be required to complete their associate degrees by August 2013 and must matriculate at a Massachusetts state college or University of Massachusetts campus by Fall 2014 to take advantage of Joint Admissions benefits.

Tuition Advantage Plan

Students participating in Joint Admissions who graduate from Middlesex with a 3.0 or higher GPA receive a 33 percent reduction on in-state tuition for the first year of their bachelor's degree program at a participating college. The reduction is renewable for a second year for students maintaining a 3.0 or higher GPA. Students may also apply for other forms of financial aid. (Note: Suffolk University is not a participant in the Tuition Advantage Program.)
