Alternative Spring Break



 

New Orleans, March  16-22, 2014

The Middlesex Alternative Spring Break trip to New Orleans, Louisiana is a week long service experience in collaboration with the Gulf Coast Volunteers for the Long Haul, Inc. Their mission is to help people in the Gulf Coast region rebuild their homes, neighborhoods, communities and their lives, for as long as it takes. Each student is expected to fund-raise at least $250.00 each to offset travel, meal and housing expenses. Ten students will be selected based on a completed  application which will include an essay, a letter of recommendation, academic standing noted, a commitment to social responsibility and desire to attend.

Lowell, March 18-20, 2014

In conjunction with the Greater Lowell Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, Middlesex Community College will be offering 10 students an opportunity to support the work of  the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell chapter. Students will support  decent  affordable housing for families. 10 students will be selected to participate and will learn about housing issues while making a direct and immediate impact.
