Student Organization Reources

The Office of Student Engagement has a variety of supplies and professional development resources available to student organizations. Trainings will be provided on Club Leadership, Using Engage, and other relevant topics. Team-building and other leadership workshops for clubs or organizations are available through the Office of Student Engagement. The Office of Student Engagement is always open to new ideas and resources that may be helpful for student organizations and are open to meeting with club leaders to discuss further opportunities.

Engage

Engage is the Office of Student Engagement’s online student organization management system. Through it, students can find and join clubs and organizations, manage and message their members, create and advertise events to the rest of campus, and much more. All student organization events are planned and organized through Engage. Training is offered each semester through the Office of Student Engagement and must be attended by executive board members.

Email, Social Media Accounts, and Websites

Communications from the Office of Student Engagement will be only through Middlesex Community College email, and students should use their MCC email for all business related to the college, including student organizations. If students prefer to use a personal address, they should have their MCC emails forwarded to their personal account to ensure they receive important information.

Organizations may create social media accounts for the purpose of connecting with members, advertising events, and recruitment. According to MCC's Social Media Policy, "anyone who wishes to create a social media account for a college-affiliated group, department, program, club, organization, etc. must first meet with the Director of Marketing Communications along with the Social Media Coordinator/Writer to review administrative requirements and obtain official approval."

These accounts do not replace Engage to manage the organization nor to create events for approval by the Office of Student Engagement. All account access information must be given to the Office of Student Engagement and must follow the MCC Social Media Policy, which can be found at this link.

Organizations should refrain from using a parent organization’s website as a resource to prospective members, as a parent organization’s website does not accurately describe how a student chapter is run on campus.
