What is MASSPIRG?

The Massachusetts Student Public Interest Research Group (MASSPIRG) is a statewide non-profit and non-partisan student organization. MASSPIRG was founded in 1972 and the students at Middlesex Community College have supported a chapter on our campus since 1986. In Spring 2005, students voted to continue supporting the chapter at MCC at a $9 per student/per semester level.

MASSPIRG has two goals:

To research and promote solutions to important social problems at the local, state and national levels; and to teach students civic values through a variety of projects and internship opportunities. At the statewide level, MASSPIRG has become the commonwealth's largest and most effective student environmental and service organization.

For more information on MASSPIRG visit there website at www.masspirgstudents.org/mcc.

Note: If you would like to support them, simply pay the bill with the MASSPIRG fee included. However, you may waive the fee by checking the box on the payment coupon of your billing statement or by calling the Student Accounts Office in Bedford at 781-280-3645 or in Lowell at 978-656-3291.
