What is MASSPIRG?

The Massachusetts Student Public Interest Research Group (MASSPIRG) is a statewide, student-directed, student-funded organization that advocates on behalf of students on issues such as affordable higher education, public health, and the environment. MCC students have voted to fund a MASSPIRG chapter on campus through the $9 waivable fee. Therefore, all students are assessed the $9 fee each semester. Any student can choose to waive the fee.

MASSPIRG has two goals:

To research and promote solutions to important social problems at the local, state and national levels; and to teach students civic values through a variety of projects and internship opportunities. At the statewide level, MASSPIRG has become the commonwealth's largest and most effective student environmental and service organization.
