Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society of Two Year Colleges. The Middlesex Chapter, Alpha Delta Omicron inducts members every semester.
To be eligible for membership in our local chapter, Alpha Delta Omicron, students must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average after earning at least 12 credits at Middlesex.
If you choose to pursue this prestigious honor, please complete the attached membership forms and return them by March 15, 2015 to Steve Rossi. The membership fee for joining Phi Theta Kappa is $65.00. This one-time fee covers the cost of national and regional membership dues. If you would like to join the honor society, but are unable to pay the membership fee please check the fee waiver box on the membership application. To find out how to waive the fee, please click here.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) membership guarantees you access to more benefits than any other student organization, including eligibility to apply for scholarships offered by Phi Theta Kappa to fund a baccalaureate degree. For example, MCC graduates moving on to UMASS-Lowell are eligible for a $1000 transfer scholarship available only to PTK members. You would be automatically enrolled in CollegeFish.org, a transfer planning program that also includes detailed information on transfer scholarships offered only to Phi Theta Kappa members at institutions across the country.
Membership also includes an array of benefits designed to help you grow as a scholar and leader. Our chapter allows you to network with a group of scholars on campus and hone critical leadership skills such as researching issues in your community, working on a team to plan ways to impact or resolve those issues, learning to effectively communicate and collaborate with fellow students, faculty, administration, and local businesses, and learning to negotiate conflicts in a positive way through our Honors in Action program.
As a member, your academic excellence will be recognized with the Golden Key Membership Pin, notation of membership on your diploma and transcript, and the privilege of wearing the Phi Theta Kappa gold stole at graduation.
Phi Theta Kappa Society events are essential to building a strong campus chapter prior to induction and will create our network of scholars at Middlesex Community College. These events are designed to inform you more about PTK. All events are required for potential members to attend prior to induction. There are three PTK events this semester:
