Degreeworks
Through Title III Strategies for Success grant funds, the College has been able to
purchase the DegreeWorks software to support a campus-wide advising program that tracks
student progress toward goal attainment and insures the accessibility of accurate,
consistent advising information.
DegreeWorks will house each student’s advising portfolio which will follow the student
throughout his/her tenure at the College. The student educational planning feature
will enable advisors and other designated faculty and staff to work with students
to develop realistic short and long-term goals and plans, track recommendations, and
assess student progress toward attaining goals.
The 4 Components of DegreeWorks
Degree Audit
A computer generated analysis that matches the courses that the student has taken
with the requirements of his/her degree program or anticipated program. The audit
allows students and their advisor to assess the student’s progress and identify unfulfilled
requirements.
What If Audit
A computer generated analysis that matches the courses that the student has taken
with the requirements of a degree program that the student is not currently enrolled.
The audit allows students and their advisor to assess the requirements a student would
need to fulfill if they decided to switch to a different degree program.
Student Educational Planner (SEP)
A planning tool that allows students and their advisors to identify course requirements
that have not yet been fulfilled and then clearly maps out when those requirements
will be completed.
Notes
Documents academic advising on student records. Advising notes describe a student’s
educational path.
