The ability to minimize the risk of harm, is not listed as a specific competency, rather, it is an overarching concept that is imbedded implicitly or explicitly into every competency. *Safety (S)

 

 1. Provide safe, holistic, compassionate, and coordinated care to patients, families, and communities across the lifespan.

2. Use the best current evidence coupled with clinical competence and consideration of patients’ preferences, experience, and values to make practice decisions to provide safe care.
