Program Description

The Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) Associate in Arts degree program is the academic base for many fields of study and work, providing the general education preparation for transfer to a bachelor's degree program. The program's extended mission is to prepare students for service, leadership and meaningful life-long work and learning. Students in LAS can choose between a general course of study or focus their learning through several options and concentrations. These are listed in the "LAS Options/Concentration" menu in the left column of this web page.

Career and Transfer Outlook

The LAS program satisfies the Commonwealth Transfer Compact, which guarantees credit transfer to Massachusetts state colleges and the University of Massachusetts. There are also a variety of transfer opportunities open to students at many public and private colleges and universities.
