Multicultural Leadership Institute

The goal of the Multicultural Leadership Institute is to engage, educate and empower students at MCC to develop their personal and professional skills while achieving academic success. The Institute provides a series of workshops, field trips and guest speakers representing different professional areas. In addition, students will be matched with MCC mentors. Up to 25 students who have placed into at least one ELL or developmental English course will be selected to participate in a semester-long program for career exploration, intensive English communication practice, leadership development as well as professional enhancement activities. Workshops will be held every Tuesday afternoon at 3:00pm in the Multicultural Center, Lowell Campus.

Students who apply must meet the following requirements:

  1. Currently enrolled in at least one ELL or developmental English class for the fall 2016 or spring 2017 semester.
  2. Meet with Multicultural Affairs staff in the Multicultural Center, City Campus, ground floor, Lowell Cowan Center or Campus Center, room 204, Bedford.
  3. Submit a completed application including a personal essay by February 27, 2017.
