Bulk Mailings

Before producing a large or specialized mailing, include Carmen Joubert (ext. 3316) in your mailing arrangements to ensure your mailing program is timely and cost effective.

We offer customized, discounted bulk mailing programs for mailings consisting of 200 envelopes or more. Depending on your delivery needs and by doing advance planning, these programs can reduce your postage costs by as much as 50% and in many situations, you may receive faster, more accurate delivery as an added benefit.

The generation of address lists for distribution is the responsibility of the mailer. The Mail Center offers computer generated direct impression addressing. We can accept most floppy disks, CD’s or e-mail attachments.

These presorted/bulk mailing programs are available to all parts of the United States. Please contact Carmen Joubert at extension 3316 to discuss your options.

Bulk Mail Services Available

The bulk mailing machines can handle a variety of mailing needs:

  • Non-Glossy postcards
  • Letters with a Business Reply Envelope included
  • Up to two pre-printed fliers
  • Up to a four-page document printed by a laser printer
  • Combinations of these services are also available

Bulk Mail Services Not Available

The bulk mail machines cannot handle the following scenarios:

  • Pre-printed, stapled or paper-clipped fliers that are to be folded and stuffed into an envelope
  • Card stock or heavily weighted paper that must be folded or inserted
  • Glossy postcards
  • Any mailing consisting of more than four total pieces to be stuffed into an envelope

This is not an exhaustive list so please contact Carmen Joubert (ext. 3316) if you are not sure about your enclosures or supply stock. Also, some work arounds may be possible for the list above, please call us to see if this is possible for your mailing.

Advanced Notice

Advanced notice is required to effectively handle and process large or specialized mailings of any kind. Large mailings are considered any mailing consisting of 200 or more pieces. This will allow the Mail Services staff to utilize the new equipment that allows for substantial postage savings.

Address lists and all corresponding materials must be given to Mail Services ONE WEEK prior to the sending date of the mailing to insure :

  • The size and quantity of enclosures (envelopes and/or corrugated boxes) is appropriate
  • Mail Center personnel and equipment are available to process the mailing
  • Sufficient time is available to produce the mailing
  • Sufficient postage is on deposit
