Students who are enrolled in academic programs may be eligible for credit based on their previous studies, or proof of knowledge gained through work or life experience, including, for example, employment and training programs, fire Science Academy training, and military service. Eligibility can be demonstrated by the CLEP examination, departmental exams of courses offered at MCC that are not available through CLEP and by portfolio evaluation. There are non-refundable fees for the evaluations. Experiential Learning credits are usually not transferable to other colleges. In each case, the following steps should be taken:

  1. Consult with an advisor to be certain the course for which you are requesting credit is required in your program.
  2. Call the appropriate contact person.
