Correctional Association of Massachusetts Scholarship Program

Since its inception in 1980, the Correctional Association of Massachusetts (CAM) has been dedicated to improving communication and learning among correction professionals, and to the recruitment of highly motivated and educated people to work in this challenging field.

To encourage and further enhance the academic pursuits of those interested in the field of corrections, as well as those already employed in the field, CAM has established a $500.00 college scholarship.

Annual application deadline: July 1.

Scholarship Information:

  • Applicant must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree granting program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree) in criminal justice or a closely related field.
  • Applicant must have completed at least 30 semester hours.
  • Applicant must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above.
  • Both full and part-time students are eligible, as long as they are currently matriculated at a college or university, and will enrolled as such for the fall semester.

Include the following with your application:

  • A completed application form
  • An official transcript of all courses completed.
  • A letter of recommendation from your academic advisor or current instructor in criminal justice.
  • Three copies of a 250 word application essay explaining why the applicant wants to pursue or continue a career in corrections.
