Police Academy Credit for Prior Learning

The Department of Criminal and Social Justice will award 6 college course credits towards the degree to those students who have successfully completed Local Police Academy recognized by the Municipal Police Training Committee or State Police Academy in Massachusetts.

The credits that will be awarded are as follow:

  • Criminal Law - CRJ112 - 3 credits
  • Contemporary Policing - CRJ121 - 3 credits

This applies to students admitted for the Fall 2023 semester and students currently enrolled in the program. Students who meet the criteria and wish to receive the credits towards their degree must submit proof of completion from the Local or State Police Academy.

Certificate of completion from the academy must be certified and submitted directly from MPTC or State Police Academy Training Committee.
