The emphasis will be on building conversational ability by engaging in conversation about current issues. We will also be reading newspaper & magazine articles that will be provided by the instructor and participants. Deutsche Gesprächsgruppe
Sprechen Sie Deutsch aber haben wenig Gelegenheit es zu benutzen? Vielleicht ist unsere wöchentliche Gesprächsgruppe dann genau das Richtige für Sie. Spanish for Beginners
This course will help students develop the four skills of the Spanish language necessary for basic communication: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. These skills will be practiced and integrated regularly during the semester. Students should not expect to comprehend every word from their instructor, but should try to integrate what they do know to understand the overall meaning. Words From The Greek: Greek Vocabulary
Greek words and word roots permeate the English language and have rich sources of meaning derived from ancient Greek mythology, literature, drama, history, religion and philosophy. Each week you will learn about twenty new English words originating from Greek sources such as Homer, Aristotle, Aeschylus and the Greek historians. Special attention will be paid to the vocabulary of myth and Greek tragedy - words such as hubris, nemesis and arete, which are especially meaningful today.
