Art and Design Programs

Graphic Design

The Graphic Design Program emphasizes the development of effective communication skills through the combination of words and images. You will be building a portfolio of professional-level projects that will prepare you to enter the graphic design workplace and/or transfer to a four-year college.

Art and design assignments require extensive time beyond the classroom in MCC’s art studios and computer labs, which are staffed by knowledgeable and helpful assistants.

A three-credit internship in the field is included in the curriculum and will give you the opportunity to work in a professional setting.

We offer both Certificate and Associates Degrees.

Studio Art

The Studio Art Program at MCC resembles the core curriculum at a four-year art college, which will enable you to transfer directly into your major field of study. You will learn the fundamentals shared by all art forms and build a well-rounded portfolio, which is required.

Typically, MCC students transfer from this program to Massachusetts College of Art, the School of the Museum of Fines Arts, University of Massachusetts, and many other colleges pursuing majors in art education, illustration, graphic design, industrial design, painting, sculpture, photography, and film making.

We offer both Certificate and Associates Degrees.
