Message from the President
MCC Cares About Our Community
During my first year as president, I have had the pleasure of
discovering just how deeply Middlesex is embedded in the community.
Over the years, the college has put down strong roots in the towns
and cities in our service area, and has developed valuable relationships with a wide variety
of community groups and organizations. All of these efforts are focused toward one,
overarching goal: helping students find the path to success.
In this issue of Profiles, we celebrate the many people, programs and partnerships that
continue to make Middlesex such an important part of the community. We reach out to
and welcome students of all ages and abilities.
Our Office of Admissions & Student Recruitment is committed to strengthening relationships
with local high schools and recruiting a diverse student body. We serve special populations,
such as veterans and their families, and many in the disabled community. We also welcome
older "nontraditional" students and help them start or enhance their careers, earn degrees,
or select from an impressive array of Community Education & Training courses.
Outstanding faculty members, like Michael Cermak and Sally Quast, work in the local
schools to enhance and promote science education. And students and alums, such as
Paulina Llorente Gonzalez, Jessica Price and Carla Rojo, continue to make us proud
through their efforts to give back.
MCC is a college that truly cares about the community we serve!
All the best,
Dr. James C. Mabry
