Mission

The Office for Professional Development at Middlesex promotes professional/personal growth, applied scholarship, and innovative practices for faculty and staff.

Our office provides support for:

bullet point college-wide professional days

bullet point new faculty orientations/seminars

bullet point 24/7 online PD resources

bullet point mini-grants for innovative work by faculty/staff

bullet point funding for PD opportunities (conference registration/travel costs). NOTE: Hotel costs & accomodations should be borne by the applicant's department.

bullet point funding for coursework/books/materials for curriculum research and development

bullet point On-campus workshops and guest speakers

bullet point Ongoing faculty development through SoTL


PD Funding

In order to qualify for PD funding, you must fill out an application for approval. Please note, if funding is approved, the purchasing transactions/arrangements must be handled through our office in accordance with college policy. We do not provide reimbursements for travel/conference arrangements that were handled on your own.

PD requests related to maintaining your professional licensures should be directed to your academic dean.
