The Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Committee sponsors writing contests each semester. The winning student’s essay is posted on the WAC web page, and the winner receives a $100 prize! (Follow this link for past winners!) In addition, some winning essays were published in the first issue of Writing Across the Curriculum and In the Disciplines: A Journal of Student Writing at Middlesex Community College, the new WAC publication of student writing. A topic for each contest is chosen early in the semester by the WAC Committee, and the contest deadline is set near the end of the semester.
The topic for the Fall 2008 WAC Student Writing Contest will be announced in October and have a deadline in early December. Check back here or look for notices posted around campus!
