Prof. Tom Laughlin

I have been an active member of Middlesex Community College's Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (MCC's CASTL) group since August of 2001.  A previous Web site existed for our CASTL group, though it had not been updated since before I joined the group.  In the summer of 2003, I created this new site with the assistance of a college Mini-grant through MCC's Office of Professional and Instructional Development, the help of the members of our CASTL group, and the technical support and assistance from members of the Middlesex Interactive department, especially Noreen McGinness.  Having recently completed a draft of my own SoTL research project where I had been looking carefully at my students' use of electronic communication, I found this effort to create a site that communicates electronically both stimulating and thought-provoking.  The collaborative nature of this kind of a creation leads me back to ongoing questions in composition about authorship, audience, and voice.

Along with other members of MCC's CASTL group and COPPER Cluster, I hope that the resources listed in this site will continue to be regularly updated.  If you have additional resources you would recommend, discover links in this site that are outdated, have additional suggestions or feedback, please email me at  laughlint@middlesex.mass.edu .

Thank you.
