Beginning Arabic
Arabic is spoken by more than 200 million people worldwide and is one of the six official languages of the United Nations. Learn to write and read The Arabic Alphabet and simple sentences. Emphasis will be on the conversational aspect of the language. Students will be able to engage in simple conversations in which they will be able to greet people, introduce themselves, ask about well-being, express possession, identify objects from the immediate environment and express admiration. Beginning French
Immerse yourself in French! Learn French pronunciation and basic level French vocabulary and expressions. Emphasis will be on conversation. At the end of this course, students will be able to exchange personal information, talk about the weather, understand and respond to time expressions, express likes and dislikes, give and respond to compliments. Students will also have the opportunity to become familiar with French customs and culture. A text is required and available at the MCC bookstore. (30 hours) $269

Beginning Khmer
This course introduces both spoken and written Khmer, with a heavy focus on conversation. It includes basic oral expression and listening comprehension and aims to give the beginning student a practical command of the language. Upon completion of this course, students can expect a basic communication skill and have a vocabulary of 500 to 1,000 words to participate in daily conversation.
