Yes, online courses carry the same credits as the equivalent face-to-face sections.

No. Your transcript will only indicate that you have taken the course, not the format of the course (e.g. face-to-face, online, self-paced, etc.)

How do I register for an online course?
You register for an online course the same way you register for a traditional course: phone, fax, online, or in person. Just make sure to use the correct section number.

Will I receive a disk in the mail?
No. Middlesex uses a system called Blackboard to offer online courses. You can access the Middlesex Blackboard system by going to the following website: https://mymcc.middlesex.mass.edu and entering your user name and password.

What is my username and password?
IMPORTANT NOTICE: There has been a change in all student accounts in the Middlesex Blackboard System (MyMCC). Students can locate their new log in information by going to the following URL: https://GetMyMCC.middlesex.mass.edu/getpw/ps/Default.aspx
Is there an orientation?
Registered online students will be enrolled into a demonstration course called "Essential Skills for Online Learners".
Do online courses require me ever to come on campus?
Some online courses will require you to come to campus occasionally for an exam or a lab, although many will not. Look at the syllabus of the course you are taking to see if there are any on-campus requirements.
What do I do if I experience a problem in my online course?
If you experience technical problems, you should contact the Middlesex Technology Center Helpdesk at 978-656-3301. If you experience problems in your online course related to subject matter, you should contact your teacher. If you have problems that go beyond technical or subject matter concerns, you should contact the Distance Learning Department at 781-280-3716.
