ADVANCE TO GO: August 4-6, 2009

"Advance to Go" is an early orientation program for first year students at Middlesex Community College. During the three-day program, students have the opportunity to get acquainted with the campus, meet the faculty, support specialists, counselors, advisors, and other students before the fall semester begins. Students have fun while taking part in many activities that help them to learn how to make the most of their college experience.

VETERANS: August 11-12, 2009

 August 11th, 9:30-11:30: Bedford Campus, Campus Center Student Lounge, Building 8

 August 12th, 9:30-11:30: Lowell Campus, City Building Ground Floor

Save the date for the Veterans Resource Center open house & orientation! Representatives from MCC and the community will introduce resources available to new and returning students. Come and meet Pam Flaherty, Dean of Students; Ziyadah Komfum & Ivette Caletz, Academic Counselors/Certifying Agents; Rick Reppucci, VRC Coordinator; and Bruce Weeks, Veterans Resource Advocate.

AVANCE LATINO:  Tuesday, August 25, 2009: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Lowell Campus: City Building, Lower Cafeteria

Avance Latino is a specially designed program to support Latino students and to ease their transition to college by helping them to explore the steps needed to be successful students. Avance Latino gives students the opportunity to meet and build connections with faculty and International and Multicultural staff members and provides students with  a sense of community where they can celebrate their heritage and have their voices heard.

ASIAN CONNECTIONS: Thursday, August 27, 2009: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Lowell Campus: City Building, Multicultural Center

Asian Connections provides opportunities for Asian students to learn how to maximize available resources which will help them adjust to college life and become more successful college students.  Asian students have a chance to build a community and to be connected with other students as well as faculty and International and Multicultural staff members.

 INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION: September 3, 2009: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Lowell Campus:  City Building, Multicultural Center

New and returning international students are invited to join the International and  Multicultural Office staff to learn about the latest INS regulations, discuss cultural differences, and answer any questions.  Come meet other international students!

SEASONS OF SERVICE OPENING DAY EVENT: September 8, 2009: 12:30-3:00pm

New students are invited to register for an opportunity to meet and mingle with other new students while giving back to the community following the Opening Day program. 

Lunch will be provided and volunteers will receive a free t-shirt.  New student volunteers  and members of the MCC Community Action Team will be working at the Lowell Community Gardens, Lowell National Park.  Bedford students will be shuttled to the Lowell campus and return to Bedford around 3:30pm.
