Reserves

How do I know if my textbook is on reserve?

Selected textbooks are on reserve for specific classes at the Bedford and Lowell Campus libraries. Search the library catalog to find your book if you know the title or author of the book. If you do not know the title and would prefer to search by course or professor's name click here. If it is not found ask your instructor to add the book to the library reserve collection. If you want to purchase textbooks check the bookstore hours or connect to the Bedford or Lowell bookstore online.

What kind of material can be placed on reserve?

Any item in the libraries' collection can be placed on reserve by an instructor.  In addition, the library will accept personal copies of books, articles, media, sample tests and realia (such as skulls).  Personal materials must comply with copyright regulations..

How do I place items on reserve?

The library requires instructors to fill out a form, with titles, class numbers, and a description.  Reserve materials are normally restricted to library use only or Overnight.  Please let the staff know how long your materials should circulate. Personal materials must be presented with the form. Please let us know if you would like a form emailed to you.

How long do my materials stay on reserve?

In general materials are placed on reserve for a semester at a time.  At the end of the semester library staff will contact you to find if items should be returned to you, put back in the circulating collection or retained for the next semester.
