

Middlesex Community College’s library materials are located in a group catalog called NOBLE. There are currently 6 colleges and 25 public libraries with holding in this catalog including North Shore, Northern Essex, and Salem State. You may search for books and other non-print materials as well as request materials from home with a patron record, library barcode and PIN. A box to search the catalog is located below.
In the catalog search box provided below, search for your topic in the NOBLE Catalog. Our staff suggest you begin your search using the keyword index. The keyword index will find your term in the author, title, summary, notes and subject fields.

Tips for searching the catalog

The library arranges their materials on the shelf according to the Library of Congress Classification System. Call numbers are made up of a combination of letters and numbers. Collections of popular films, reference, CD, and Audio materials are arranged in specific sections in the library.

Please feel free to ask library staff for assistance in locating material.
Middlesex students and staff have access to over three million items which can be requested directly through our web based catalog with a library card and PIN. Applications for library cards and pins are available at the Bedford and Lowell Library Circulation Desks.

Note: You should receive a message saying that your request was successful. Books with on shelf status are readily available. If the title is not currently available,, you will be placed on a waiting list.

The library provides access to material to support the instructional, research and public services activities of the college community. In accordance with these principles, we gladly accept recommendations from faculty in their academic disciplines. We will do our best to order items requested in accordance with budget constraints. You can email our librarians at the Bedford or Lowell campus with your suggestions.
Does the library have the required textbooks for my classes?
Selected textbooks are on reserve for specific classes. Search the library catalog to find your book. If it is not found, ask your instructor to add the book to the library reserve collection. To purchase a textbook from the bookstore check their hours.
