SUGGESTED LENDER LIST

2008-2009

Selecting a Lender

Under the Federal Family Education Loan Program, banks or lending institutions actually fund your Stafford student loan. While most loan terms, such as the interest rate, fees and repayment programs, are federally mandated, some lenders offer special incentives. Our office will process a Federal Stafford Loan with any participating lender and the choice of lender is always yours.  Experience tells us that student and parent borrowers seek our assistance in identifying a reliable and efficient lender that fully integrates into our loan processing system and provides superior customer service.  We have compiled the following list of lenders (listed in no particular order) for the 2008-2009 academic year to help you begin the process of selecting your lender. We have chosen these lenders based upon their demonstrated commitment to providing the very best in customer service and borrower benefits.

All of the lenders on our list meet the following requirements.

Lenders must have competitive rates and repayment benefits for our borrowers.  "Value" isn't always just about price and may mean different combinations of discounts, benefits and service to borrowers.  In general, these lenders must possess a superior system of operations, including 24/7 access to loan information online and a toll free call center staffed with knowledgeable representatives who demonstrate timely and responsive processing with excellent problem resolution service.

SPECIAL NOTE: As a result of H.R. 2669; the Federal College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007, many borrower benefits offered by lenders will be changing and or eliminated.  Although every attempt is made to keep this list current, this summary should not be in place of your interviewing the lender you've chosen.  We strongly encourage you to contact your lender with any questions or concerns you may have.
