POSITION:                            

Science Instructor/Advisor LOWELL MIDDLESEX ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL

RESPONSIBILITIES:          

Instruct Science to students grades 9-12, five classes per day.  Assume role of advisor to assigned group of students.  This is a unique teaching opportunity offering the challenge to re-engage students in their education.  Develop and apply instructional methods that engage students of varying learning styles, abilities and backgrounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:              

Bachelor's Degree in related area, Master's preferred.  Certified in Science or pass the Mass. Teacher test within one year of hire.  Must have experience with at-risk students in a school setting.  Experience and/or knowledge in working with students, staff and faculty of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including those with different levels of academic preparation and varying physical and learning abilities.  Seeking candidates who will work closely with small staff as a team, examining practice for continuous curriculum and instructional improvement.  The position requires strong content area knowledge as well as a desire to work closely with students to effect motivation.

SALARY:                               

Commensurate with qualifications and experience and contingent upon grant funding
