POSITION:              Science Instructor/Advisor LOWELL MIDDLESEX ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:            

Instruct Science to students grades 9-12, five classes per day.  Assume role of advisor to assigned group of students.  This is a unique teaching opportunity offering the challenge to re-engage our students, from diverse backgrounds and with varying abilities, in their education.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:               

Bachelor's Degree in related area, Master's preferred.  Certified or Highly Qualified in Science or pass the Mass. Teacher test within one year of hire.  Must have experience with at-risk students.  Seeking candidates who will work closely with small staff as a team, examining practice for continuous curriculum and instructional improvement.  The position requires strong content area knowledge as well as a desire to work closely with students to effect motivation.  Experience and/or knowledge in working with students, staff and faculty of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including those with different levels of academic preparation and varying physical and learning abilities.

 

SALARY:                               

Commensurate with qualifications and experience and contingent upon grant funding.
